Who doesn’t love an exhilarating hike exploring the great outdoors! After this memory making day, you may feel the need for some sore muscle relief. Using essential oils is a natural way of being kind to your body after muscle exertion.
German chamomile essential oil is one of the most powerful, yet gentle oils for injuries relating to muscles, tendons, and ligaments due to its excellent anti-inflammatory and cooling properties. A best friend for adults and kids! It’s beautiful blue color adds to the delight of this oil and brings a beautiful rich color to blends. The reason for the amazing blue color is the content of chamazulene, a derivative of azulene. This chamazulene is not present in the fresh flower but is produced during the distillation process. German chamomile essential oil is also fantastic for relief when experiencing painful or irritating rashes, insect bites, and burns – all of which might occur during your outdoor adventures.
Other colorful ways German chamomile might be used:
- in a bath or foot soak after a long day on your feet
- cuts and scratches,
- German chamomile can be applied in a topical blend to utilize the oil’s maximum relief effects
- serious bruising – keep this blend handy at all times!
Not only does German chamomile come in an oil, but also as a German Chamomile hydrosol, which can help to soothe and relieve minor scrapes and scratches. It’s simple to use! Just spray right on the abrasion to help clean the area for a soothing remedy. A favorite hydrosol combination is lavender and German chamomile, great for bug bites, stings, and burn relief. Spray hydrosol on a cotton ball and use it as a small compress for quick relief! This soothing combination is gentle enough for children as well and is always stocked in our personal first aid kits.
